Frequently asked questions
We create original, horror-themed theatrical performances. You enter our shadow world as both an audience member, and a character in the story. You don't have any lines, but you may be asked to take actions, solve puzzles or make choices. A unique story will unfold around you and involve you. In some events, professional actors will lead you as you move through an original, horror-themed play. In others, we use technology and innovative ways to guide you on through a disturbing story from an award winning writer.
NO.This is definitely not any of those things - this is live, walk-through, interactive theatre! Whilst our experiences are horror-themed and are certainly disturbing, not everything is shocks and jolts. There is a detailed storyline, intriguing characters and rich imagery to discover. Think of us more like an Edgar Allen Poe story than a gory slasher flick.
Hunted is international! Our experiences take place at secret locations all over the world. We’ve toured around Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the U.K. and we’re always planning for new destinations! Our secret locations are revealed when you purchase your tickets- you download a location map once your purchase is complete. If you need info about the general area of the location, contact us anytime!
There is usually parking and public transport options nearby our experience venues, however, we cannot guarantee this - we do not provide free/onsite parking. We will include recommendations of where to park on your location map, issued with your tickets, if it is available nearby!
Usually, NO. Our horror experiences depend on preserving the right mood in the location. Often, this doesn't work so well with flushing sounds, so we generally don't offer toilet facilities to patrons. Please note overnight experiences have different facilities, and these will be advertised with the event.
NO. Our horror experiences usually take place at sites that suit the vibe of the show. That can be anywhere from a dark forest to an abandoned medical facility. We don't offer a cloakroom and bags are not allowed during the experience. (Small, cross-body bags that leave your hands free are fine.) Please note overnight experiences have different allowances, and these will be advertised with the event.
This all depends on your frame of mind. If you let yourself get on board with the atmosphere, story and characters, our horror experiences can be terrifying. We've had people bail out half way through, or refuse to even get started. However, if you're "too cool" or second guess the action, you might not get the full effect. Most people leave our horror experience feeling exhilarated, and keen to try another one!
Our horror experiences can vary from 45 minutes to two hours, depending on the show. Most average about 45 minutes – one hour, depending on choices and interactions made during the performance - every group and every show is different.
Feel free to contact us about a specific show's anticipated duration! But please bear in mind, duration depends heavily on each audience.
It depends on the experience. Audience groups can range from six people to fifty people, varying according to what works best for different shows.
We love group bookings! You're more than welcome to book for you and your guests on a special occasion. Contact us with plenty of lead time and we can tailor an event to suit you!
Please note that no alcohol may be consumed prior to participating in our horror experiences.
It depends on the show. Sometimes, we are able to adjust our experiences to enable guests who require wheelchair access to participate. Sometimes, the venue and/or content of a particular horror experience makes that impossible. If this is a consideration for you, always check with us before purchasing tickets.
We do also accept Companion Card :)
All of the rules of participation for our horror experiences are shown in the Terms & Conditions in our Ticket Shop. Important rules include :
- NO TALKING during the performance, unless directly engaged in conversation by an actor. - Follow all instructions given by actors at all times.
- DO NOT TOUCH THE ACTORS at any time during the experience, unless directly asked to.
- Do not touch any props or parts of the venue unless directly instructed to.
- Please respect all other participants, actors and front of house staff. No rudeness or aggressive behaviour will be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove any person/s from the venue who pose a danger to others or are disruptive to the performance.
Like any other theatre performance, you mustn’t speak during the show unless an actor directly engages you in conversation. That means not interrupting the dialogue between actors, nor speaking to other members of the audience during the show. You mustn't interfere in the progression of the story. You will be removed from the experience if you disrupt or disturb the performance in any way - and that won't entitle you to a refund.
Our actors will always make it very clear what you are intended to do and when during the experience. Opportunities for you to interact with the story world, and characters or objects within it, will be obvious. There is no reverse psychology involved here - you're not intended to "outsmart" the actors, try to get away from them, go against their instructions or do anything but what they are asking you to do. You will be removed from the experience if you don't follow the instructions - and if that happens, it won’t mean a refund.
You must wear comfortable, easy to move in clothing. Depending on the show, it may get dirty!
NO HEELS PERMITTED - you will be refused entry. During the experience you will be walking, and may be asked to move quickly or run. We recommend enclosed shoes.
NO MASKS OR COSTUMES.
No personal belongings can be taken into the experience (except your wallet and/or phone - off or on silent only!) The Thousand is not responsible for stolen or damaged personal belongings.
Some of our experiences are outdoors. In summer, you may need insect repellent. In winter, you may need a weather-proof jacket.
Darkness is often a big part of creating the right atmosphere for our horror experiences and we always make sure there is just the right amount of light to show you what we want you to see. Some of our experiences may allow you to use the light on your phone for walking visibility or searching for objects, but big torches that may interfere with the intended light level or the enjoyment of other patrons are not allowed.
NO. NO CAMERAS PERMITTED DURING THE EXPERIENCE. This includes your camera phone! All of our experiences are copyrighted and cannot be recorded in any way. If you take any photos or video, your device will be confiscated and/or you may be asked to leave immediately.
NO - unless directly instructed to do so.
They can touch you, but don't worry - we're not a haunted house. Our actors are trained professionals and will only do so when necessary for the story or your safety.
They will get up close and personal and you may get blood, food or dirt on you, depending on which experience you booked for. If you're not sure, please ask prior to purchase.
Our rules are strictly enforced, for the safety and enjoyment of all participants. If you break the rules of participation, you may be asked to leave the premises, with or without warning. No refunds will be provided in this instance.
NO. YOU MUST NOT DRINK ALCOHOL PRIOR TO ANY HUNTED EXPERIENCE. If we believe you have been drinking or are inebriated in any way, you will not be permitted to entry. We have a zero tolerance policy for inebriation. This is for the safety of all staff and participants and will not occasion a refund.
Yes! Our horror experiences are limited to patrons aged 13 or older.
